	Hope and d’Espoir, French for ‘hope’, sewn in my hair on opposite hems of a doorway chair. Hope is activated to flutter in the breeze by an open door to the world. Working with author Sasha Boczkowski, writing in local dialect, on residency in Atlantic Newfoundland, French place names are locally pronounced literally, the remote bay of Hope becoming Despair. /
